We will use SEMRush to find real high CPC keywords and you can just repeat all these steps and at the end, there will be a list of such keywords in your hand.
If you have already a niche in your mind then you can go with that niche and find relevant keywords with high CPC. But in our case, we don’t have one so we will use our top competitor and analyze their entire website and keywords to find the top-paying keywords. At the end, we will export the list of all those keywords.
You can see that on our website we cover topics related to blogging, making money online, earning with Google AdSense, etc so I believe that Backlinko can be our top competitor as a niche. I know Backlinko is a huge authority site but somehow the content are same.
Here are the steps we will follow.
Create an account on SEMRush the famous SEO tool used by millions of SEOs, and bloggers around the world.
You can buy their premium plan for more insights but for the basic use, you can sign up for a free account also. Your job will be done with the free account initially. Just head over to the SEMRush Sign-Up button and create an account.
Once you create the account login to your SEMRush account and follow the below steps.
Open SEMRush put the link of our competitor in the SEMRush domain overview as shown in the image and click on the search button.
Let the SEMRush tool gather all the information about your competitor’s website. Check the second image you can see the overview of the domain we out in SEMRush.
Scroll down and click on Organic Research (Top Organic Keywords), and SEMRush will show all the keywords of your competitors as shown in the image. You can also check other details but here we will stick with our main topic which is how to find high CPC keywords using SEMRush.
Here I put a filter and added “Blogging” so SEMRush will give me all the keywords that include the keyword blogging. After that, choose a seed keyword from here and go to the “Keyword Overview” or “Keyword Magic Tool” which you can see on the left-hand side of SEMRush. Open that and put the keyword you choose from here. In my case, I choose “all you have to do is “Upside Down” the “Blogging”.
Here you need to put some basic filters to get the right keyword.
- Put a filter on “Exact Match” so you can see all the keywords that include your targeted keyword.
- Click on the “CPC” and make it upside down to show the CPC in ascending order. So you can see from the highest to the lowest. (As shown in the image)

Because this is also owned by Google itself. So instead of only relying on another third-party tool we need to utilize this free keyword research tool also.
To find Google AdSense high CPC keywords Google Keyword Planner Tools is very handy and easy. There is also an export and copy option so you can easily get all the list.
Here are the steps to follow.
Before start finding high CPC AdSense keywords using Google Keyword Planner Tool AKS GKP you need a Google Ads account. Because this tool is located inside the Google Ad account.

In the menu shown on the left click on tools and then discover new keywords.

Here you need to again apply a filter and make the “Top of Page Bid(High Range)” upside down to arrange the CPC list in ascending order. Once you apply this filter all the high CPC keywords will be shown to you which you can copy or expert for further use.

- Keyword Difficulty Correlate With CPC: This is totally wrong thinking that if a keyword difficulty is high the CPC will be high. Keyword difficulty is a term we use only in SEO. This term is also used in PPC but not in the same meaning. So do not mix these both.
